Selina Blouse (1913-1919) Pattern || #2102

The Selina Blouse is a classic mid-to-late 1910s style based on an extant garment. It features a front buttoning blouson bodice, a slightly raised waist with peplum, and the V-neckline and raglan sleeves that became fashionable from late 1913 onwards.

View A is taken directly from the original garment, and has a waistcoat effect front and a 'stand-away' collar.

View B is based on fashion plates showing similar simple raglan sleeved blouses, and has a plain front and no collar, so that it can be worn with a lace or novelty collar.

The faced sleeves ends have a decorative slit, and may be worn long, as shown in View A, or turned back to form cuffs, as shown in View B. 

Mix and match collars and fronts, wear the peplum tucked in or worn out, and use contrasting collars and cuff facings for a variety of looks.

The blouse can also be worn with a matching skirt to make a dress in two parts, or attached to a skirt pattern to make a dress.

The Selina Blouse is designed to be worn over a 1910s corset, such as the Rilla Corset, but can also be worn without a corset as a modern garment.
