Dress your hair how they did in the 18th century. Hair pomatum was used to condition as well as style the hair throughout the 1700s by all classes of European and Colonists. Hair Pomatums can be used on their own but were oftenmost paired with Hair Powders to create the volume needed for large 18th century hairstyles.

How To Use

For use with powder: Work a small amount of pomatum between hands then apply evenly to a small lock of hair from root to tip. Continue until the whole head of hair has been applied to. Work in sections to lightly dust powder from root to tip, brushing to even out the application.

For use for wet-setting curls:
Working in sections, use a very small amount (only the finger tips) to lightly damp hair from root to tip. Comb with a fine tooth comb to eliminate any tangles, then curl as desired (papillotes/papers, pin curls, rag curls, foam rollers, etc). After the desired hair has been set, cover head with a silky scarf and let the hair dry for at least 8 hours. When fully dry, carefully take out your lovely curls and style as you wish.
