Handmade Untrimmed Straw Bonnet suitable for impressions 1805-1820 for women or girls. Based on examples from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Augusta Auctions, fashion plates and the 1995 film of Sense and Sensibility.
This two-tone weave bonnet is made with a high brim for the higher hairstyles of the Regency Period. Straw bonnets are comfortable for summer as they are lightweight and allow for airflow. This bonnet sits best with hair done in a high bun or chignon on the head.
