18th century caps were an essential accessory to both practically dress ones' head, but to also keep up with the latest fashion. Milliners of the time specialized in making caps quickly, as the styles rapidly changed. Be your own milliner with this cap kit and learn how to roll and finish hems and put together a lovely, single layer cap for yourself or a friend.
This style is suitable for impressions 1760-1780. Based on mezzotints from the second quarter of the 18th century. This style is particularly fashionable from 1760-1775 for lower-working class lady's wardrobes and is made of a sturdy but light linen fabric from Burnley & Trowbridge Company. Bess features a single layer, handstitched construction technique appropriate for the time period, one ruffle around the face and an adjustable drawstring for fit.
