Handmade Untrimmed Open Weave Bonnet suitable for impressions 1795-1820 for women or girls. Based on examples from the Litchfield Historical Society, Metropolitan Museum of Art, & Augusta Auctions and Pride and Prejudice movies.

This lovely open weave bonnet is made with fine decoratively woven jute in a lovely light wheat color. It is great for summer since it is lightweight and sheer, and has a delicate aesthetic that provides some sun protection for the face Spring thru Fall. Sometimes referred to as an early version of the "poke bonnet," this style has an slightly flared brim — which was very stylish from 1805-1820. This bonnet sits best with hair done in a mid-low bun on the back of head.
