Handmade Untrimmed Open Weave Bonnet "Catherine" Bonnet in woven straw.

Based on examples from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Augusta Auctions and fashion plates- Specifically from "Ackermann's Repository, October 1817"

Suitable for impressions from 1810-1825. This lovely light weave bonnet is made with decoratively woven straw. It is great for
summer as straw provides and light and breathable head and neck covering. This style is
sometimes referred to as a large "leghorn" and features a tall crown that was popular later in the 1810’s. This bonnet sits best with a high bun or coif on the top of the head.

**Listing is for an UNTRIMMED bonnet**
